I am just going to start this post by saying OMG. This was not the birthday outfit everyone plans for... This was not the weather predictions that everyone plans for... It was just not correct... But I have since learned from my mistakes and am here to share some tips on what to wear and what not to wear in Palm Springs!
We stayed out in the Banning/Beaumont area where it happened to be cold and rainy Saturday morning. I had looked at Palm Springs and Palm Dessert area forecast the day before and it also predicted rain all day. I was not going to let this ruin our "warm" trip, so I made the best of it and put on my long sleeve, jeans and RAIN BOOTIES... The minute we drove past the windmills, I could tell that it was going to be a sun-shining day... After going to the date factory, we made a pitstop at Target to buy me a pair of sandals because my feet were becoming so hot and these boots were obviously the wrong choice of footwear. I continued to wear my long sleeve because it was windy and it was a loose, kind-of thin shirt, but man could I have done without my BLACK jeans!!! I was so mad at myself for wearing the outfit I did.
My advice to you is to always bring clothes for the unexpected, but more pack for what the weather usually is in a certain area. Another tip is to bring extra clothes with you, outside of the hotel if you feel your outfit might not work out for the whole day.
What to wear in Palm Springs: Dresses, thin jeans or crop pants, t-shirts or tanks. (If it gets to considerably hot, shorts, thin tanks and thin dresses)
What not to wear in Palm Springs: Dark colored or thick jeans, long sleeves, boots, winter wear, etc. (But always bring at least one outfit like this, JUST IN CASE.)
I hope this helps you plan, more for what not to wear in Palm Springs. Do not always believe the forecast ;(
