Welcome to my blog! I hope you find inspiration to take a travel challenge yourself and/or find ideas of where to visit in California and what to do in those places! Enjoy!

February: Jake's On The Lake

Jake's On The Lake has been a staple restaurant for my family for the years we have visited Tahoe. It has to be the best restaurant in Tahoe City for food as well as atmosphere. The place is filled with wood furniture and wall-wide windows.

My mother and I were sat right near the window at a small two-person table. Our table looked right out onto the water and the hills/mountains beyond, it was beautiful.

We ordered each ordered a bowl of Clam Chowder ($9.00/each) and then shared a plate of the famous "Shaka" Fish Tacos ($14.00 per two tacos). We weren't quite starving and wanted to save our stomachs for more goodies throughout the day. This was the perfect light lunch for two and OMG the fish tacos were to die for! We plan to go back during Summer for a 1-night trip and this place will definitely be a repeat, not even because we were used to going here from the years past but because of the tacos!

So overall, cost us $32 before tax and tip, so honestly not the cheapest lunch if that is what you are looking for, but you cannot beat the view you will get while eating. During the Summer the put tables/chairs out on the balcony for an even more enjoyable afternoon/evening. Also the staff there were so accommodating and nice, true Tahoe people!

Hope you guys try it out and enjoy as much as I did :)

Next food post has pictures I promise!!!
