March: Blaze Pizza, Shield's Date Factory
While on vacation my mom and I are not ones to spend a large lump sum of money just on food as you might be able to tell. For the drive down, we brought an ice chest full of fridge snacks and then of course a dry bag as well. I believe the only stop we made was to get me a Shamrock Shake from McDonald's for my birthday treat! (Legit only time I will eat at that place!)
Friday night after arriving at the hotel, we found out how close we were to this huge outlet mall! I was getting quite hungry and found out that there was a Blaze Pizza in the mall's area and I was SO excited! I am not kidding, they have the best fast-cooked, fast-food, whatever one might want to call it, pizza! I order the same type of pizza at most places (Pepperoni, Banana Peppers & Jalapeños), while my mom loads it up with all sorts of things when we go to Blaze! She ordered a "Build Your Own Pizza" with bell peppers, sausage, mushrooms, onions, artichokes??? but most of all LOADS OF GARLIC! She gets huge chunks of them put all over her pizza and even usually asks the person making it to load on more! Moving on from our difference in taste preferences... We got out of here with pizza left over and the meal was under $20! This left us with easy meals to eat the other nights at our hotels and full this night!
The other special food venue we visited while in Palm Springs was Shields Date Factory!! YUM YUM YUM. We used to visit Palm Springs almost every Spring Break and this was the place to be! They have so many sweet treats and great road snacks inside, but everyone visits to enjoy a Date Shake. If you don't know what a date is, it is basically a huge raisin... So date shake... Yuck right?!? Nope, it is like a thick and not too sweet chocolate shake, but like way better!!! It is sooooo good! I believe one shake was about $6 or $7 and was plenty for 2 people to share, possibly even 3. Moral of the story... If you are in Palm Springs, stop and try a date shake!
